The basis for the electronic output increase from G-POWER for the BMW M6 convertible is the fact that G-POWER, in contrast to the manufacturer, does not use standard software full of compromises for the engine but an individual solution. G-POWER calls this bespoke remapping of the factory ECU: Bi-Tronik 2. Among others, the parameters for the amount of fuel and the ignition timing are modified depending on the increased boost level. The BMW M550d is not just impressive because of its pioneer engine layout – speaking of multi-stage turbocharging and variable turbine geometry with three turbochargers – but because of its power output as well: 381 hp (280 kW) and a 740 Nm of torque enable a “M”- like driving dynamics, thus this Power-Diesel is allowed to carry the legendary “M” in its name. The first Diesel in the BMW history!
But this is not the end in terms of power output, yet. Thanks to the microprocessor controlled power module D-Tronik 5 V1 the M550d becomes a real G-POWER amongst the BMW diesel models. More than 435 hp/(320 kW) and an awesome 850 Nm of torque are the result of the dyno test. (more…)

Despite BMW finishing production of the BMW M3 E9X with its legendary 4.0l V8 high-revving engine in 2013, the demand for performance increases has been unabated. In order to accommodate, G-POWER has technically upgraded its range of supercharger systems. By doing so, the new systems with the increased performance of +20 hp have been labeled as the “TU” version (technical update) compared to previous versions. Prices of the new M3 V8 TU systems have not been increased, however. (more…)
In its 6th edition, the BMW M3/M4 presents with a 3.0 litres six-cylinder serial motor, thanks to its default Biturbo charge the ideal basis for additional power increases: optimisation of the motor electronics by G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 V1 already increases power by 89 to a total of 520 PS. Raising the V-max limit permits the G-POWER M3/M4 a maximum speed in excess of 325 km/h at the same time.
The additional module Bi-Tronik 5 V1 used in the BMW M3/M4, connected upstream of the original motor control unit, records the information measured and submitted by the vehicle sensors before they reach the serial control unit. The data that are read in are modified by the Bi-Tronik 5 microprocessor and thus submitted to the serial control unit. This in turn determines the parameters required for the output, such as fuel amount and ignition time, before initiating a moderate increase of the charging pressure. (more…)
Therefore G-POWER is using the hidden potential of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé for a power output enhancement of awesome 150 hp and 210 Nm of torque. The G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 V4 pushes the factory 560 hp/ 680 Nm to 710 hp/ 890 Nm.

In case of the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5, these modifications are made by a micro-processor that is patched in before the standard BMW ECU. Of course all standard protection and diagnostic functions of the original BMW ECU stay untouched. During the engineering process of the latest generation of the successful Bi-TRONIK the G-POWER R&D department has transferred its experience from the area of supercharging to the turbocharged BMW engines. After all, the ASA supercharger used for the G-POWER supercharger systems is closely related to the turbochargers featured by BMW, since both units us a centrifugal compressor to build up boost. As a farewell to the legendary BMW S65 engines G-POWER has taken care of its strongest and most exclusive stage, namely the 4.4l version installed in the only 150 times build BMW M3 GTS respectively the even rarer four-door version the M3 CRT that has only been delivered 67 times.
