The wheel rim specialists from Oxigin Leichtmetallräder in Swabian Unterensingen prove that their current wheel rim design “18 Concave” looks particularly handsome on the large BMW models with the two XL Bavarians presented here.
The white 5 series Touring from the F11 series has been equipped with the Oxigin 18 in the popular finish black full polish with undercut. It’s very practical: there is a TÜV expert report for the sizes used, 9×20 and 10.5×20 inch, in combination with tyres sized 245/35ZR20 and 285/30ZR20, for the current generation of the BMW 5 series F10/11. This permits easy registration in the vehicle documents. The significantly concave shape of the Oxigin 18 Concave is very well visible in the white station wagon. With the plug-in-hybrid racer i8, BMW has doubtlessly revolutionised the classic sports car. 1.5 litres of displacement spread across three cylinders and 231 PS / 320 Nm, in combination with a 131 PS / 250 Nm electric motor are enough for this very dynamic all-wheel drive car to offer a driving output worthy of a “real” sports car. The electric racer sprints from zero to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 250 km/h. The sensation is that in spite of this power, the BMW can offer a combined consumption of only 2.1 litres of gasoline per 100 kilometres for the i8! Powered purely electrically, the plug-in hybrid, fuelling up mostly from the socket, can drive up to 37 kilometres and reach speeds of up to 65 km/h. (more…)
Even six years after its market introduction in spring 2008, the BMW X6 is quite literally unique on the roads: Just in time for the pending model change to the second generation of the Sport Activity Coupé and the market introduction of its little brother X4, increased numbers of pretest vehicle images started appearing online, suggesting that other premium manufacturers would soon follow suit. That’s hardly surprising. The X6, initially often ridiculed and scolded for its “political incorrectness” has developed into a real surprise success and image carrier – not in spite of but specifically because the air of unreasonability that it exudes. Technically, the 4-series Gran Coupé by AC Schnitzer comes with various performance upgrades. In the AC Schnitzer version, the BMW 428i develops 294 hp, and the BMW 435i transmits a powerful 360 hp through the wheels to the asphalt. Therefore G-POWER is using the hidden potential of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé for a power output enhancement of awesome 150 hp and 210 Nm of torque. The G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 V4 pushes the factory 560 hp/ 680 Nm to 710 hp/ 890 Nm.
The basis for the electronic output increase is the fact that G-POWER, in contrast to the manufacturer, does not use standard software full of compromises but an individual solution for the engine. Among others, the parameters for the amount of fuel and the ignition timing are modified depending on the increased boost level. In case of the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5, these modifications are made by a micro-processor that is patched in before the standard BMW ECU. Of course all standard protection and diagnostic functions of the original BMW ECU stay untouched. During the engineering process of the latest generation of the successful Bi-TRONIK the G-POWER R&D department has transferred its experience from the area of supercharging to the turbocharged BMW engines. After all, the ASA supercharger used for the G-POWER supercharger systems is closely related to the turbochargers featured by BMW, since both units us a centrifugal compressor to build up boost. BMW recently expanded its continually growing X model series with a second Sports Activity Coupé with the brand-new X4, giving the huge X6 a “little” brother.
The wheel rim specialists from Oxigin Leichtmetallräder from Swabian Unterensingen equipped the off-roader with the coupé-like roof line with their current rim design “18 Concave” briefly after its market introduction: the dimensions 9×21 inch with 245/35ZR21 at the front and 10.5×21 inch with 285/30ZR21 at the rear axle fit the X4 perfectly. In these dimensions, the strong concaveness of the large one-parters, at 45 millimetres in front and as much as 67 millimetres in the back is clearly visible. (more…)

In March this year, the Bavarian company elevated its 1-series coupé to the new 2-series. For the tuning experts at AC Schnitzer, the work was just beginning: they have now developed an extensive tuning range for the BMW 2-series coupé which should satisfy even the most sophisticated drivers “beyond the standard”.
The Aachen-based tuners know that for many BMW customers, there’s no such thing as too sporty. So no less than five performance upgrades are offered for the 2-series coupé.
The export version of the BMW 220i takes off with an engine power of 245 hp instead of 184 hp. (more…)
