This is our latest work of art – BMW Bullshark. The name of the project comes from the English name for the species Bull shark. Our goal was to bring back part of the forms of the sea predator, which are typical for the older models and to weave them harmoniously with the future in the way we see it. (more…)
Indeed no need to discuss here the fact that the serial BMW M6 is no child of sadness. The upper class athlete sparkles of elegance and luxury as coupé as well as in cabriolet version. Exactly this is the point, on which the BBM Motorsport from Senden nearby Munster, Germany, puts the lever in position to create the BBM M700BT out of the recent M6 cabrio by means of very special „ingredients“. “Only serious and safe tuning will bring the driving fun you want!” Under this motto, the Association of German Vehicle Tuners (VDAT) launches a special concept car every year. In 2013, BMW AG is a partner in the Association’s “TUNE IT! SAFE!” initiative, which is supported by the Police and the Federal Ministry for Transport, Construction and Road Development. The Aachen-based BMW tuning specialist AC Schnitzer was responsible for most areas of tuning in the BMW 428i Coupé. (more…)
With its upgrade of the new BMW 4-series Coupé, AC Schnitzer is again reaching for the “Tuning Crown“. The Aachen-based tuning company presents the world premiere of its own version of the sporting mid-range coupe at the Essen Motor Show from 30th November to 8th December 2013. The tuning specialist again impressively demonstrates how to transform a base model from BMW into royalty. One prejudice generally expressed against tuned cars is often: “These dazzlers only look racy and actually have nothing beneath the hood!“ The company LEIB Engineering from Gießen – specialist of performance upgrades – has not only disproved this dogma but also gives the lie to proponents of this prejudice with completely diametrically opposed facts. The top model of the recent BMW 1 series, the M135i with its exhaust gas turbo charged straight-six-engine, offers a quite excellent optimization starting basis for track day and street. Thus, nevertheless, sounds the credo of the Bavarian TUNINGWERK GmbH at Puchheim, west of Munich.
To take the relatively unspectacularly looking gray BMW M135i for a gray mouse could be a fatal error. Oftentimes, starting point no. 1 is the factory-set software, so also in this case. Moreover, the engine of the test car (with manual gear) is equipped by a two kgs lighter dual mass flywheel. Optionally, there is also available a single mass flywheel with about 4,5 kgs of weight economy and, also, a reinforced clutch. Both of these options are not possible for automatic gears. (more…)
There is no doubt that the orange Manhart MH3 V8 RS Clubsport, based on the E92 M3, was (and still is) one of the most spectacular and most popular customised BMW vehicles of recent years. The creators of the MH3 V8 RS Clubsport – the performance specialists at Manhart Racing in Wuppertal, Germany – are now transplanting its internal organs into their new customised M3 convertible so to speak. The transplant involves ‘taming’ the new M3 slightly, as over against the MH3 V8 RS Clubsport, but it still creates the quickest and most powerful convertible of its class. The newly-developed and constructed MH3 V8 R Biturbo convertible again underscores the fact that the specialists at Manhart have lost nothing of their legendary technical expertise, even under new management. And with the 1-series F20 (5-doors) and F21 (3-doors), Aachen-based tuning experts AC Schnitzer are also offering even more individuality and driving pleasure. For the M 135i by AC Schnitzer the company has several tuning elements up its sleeve.
In its standard configuration, the six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine produces 320 HP (235 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque, but after AC Schnitzer works its magic power is increased to 360 HP (265 kW) without increasing CO2 emissions. (more…)
