2015 G-Power BMW M6 F12 Convertible Front AngleThe basis for the electronic output increase from G-POWER for the BMW M6 convertible is the fact that G-POWER, in contrast to the manufacturer, does not use standard software full of compromises for the engine but an individual solution. G-POWER calls this bespoke remapping of the factory ECU: Bi-Tronik 2. Among others, the parameters for the amount of fuel and the ignition timing are modified depending on the increased boost level. At the same time the Bi-Tronik 2 allows the individual wishes of the customer vis-à-vis throttle response and power delivery characteristics to be written into the software. (more…)

BMW M6 GT3 2016


2016 BMW M6 GT3 Front AngleBMW has set a course for the future in GT racing with the presentation of the newly developed BMW M6 GT3 at the 66th IAA Cars 2015 in Frankfurt am Main (DE). The racing version of the BMW M6 Coupe will be sent into action by numerous private teams from the 2016 season in a host of championships and renowned race events around the world as part of the BMW Sports Trophy.

BMW Motorsport has channelled its vast well of experience amassed since 2010 with the BMW M6 GT3’s successful predecessor, the BMW Z4 GT3, into the development of the new car. Indeed, the new GT3 racer boasts a raft of improvements, particularly in the areas of drivability and economy. One example is the use of a series-produced engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which develops higher output and an increase in torque. Oktoberfest date for one-off BMW M3 “Münchner Wirte”


2015 BMW M3 Munchner Wirte Front AngleBMW M GmbH is set to unveil a BMW M3 in “Münchner Wirte” livery to coincide with this year’s Oktoberfest in Munich (19 September – 4 October). The one-off car will underscore the company’s ties with motor sport in general and the city of Munich in particular. The livery design of the BMW M3 “Münchner Wirte” harks back to that of the legendary BMW M1 Procar from 1981, complete with Bavarian-style façade painting and blue and white twisted cords, along with depictions of Munich landmarks (such as the Olympic Stadium, Siegestor, Frauenkirche church and BMW’s headquarters – the “four-cylinder” building), a roast chestnut seller and the Wiesn-Schänke beer tent at the Oktoberfest.
