An interesting test between two powerful premium diesel cars – E90 330d and Mercedes-Benz C320 CDI.
The e90 330d is tuned to 272PS (200kW) and 640Nm (472 lb-ft), instead of 231PS and 500Nm of torque, while the C320 CDI chunks 270PS (199kW) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft), instead of 224PS and 510Nm.
Wetterauer BMW E90 330d – 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 259 km/h (160 mph). Price – 50 000 Euro.
Kicherer Mercedes-Benz C320 CDI is slightly slower – 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, a top speed of 250 km/h (150 mph) and the price is 47 000 Euro.
Both cars have some good and bad points, but the BMW is the obvious ultimate fun machine, especially when it is fitted with LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and sport suspension. One of the best advantages of the BMW is the possibility to turn off the ESP completely, while the Mercedes can’t do that.
