The Continental Tire Sports Car Championship headlined the racing at Lime Rock Park, in Lakeville, Conn., on May 24 with BMW teams racing to two top-five finishes in the Street Tuner class and two top-10 finishes in the Grand Sport class. In a departure from the season’s opening three rounds the results marked the first time a BMW did not finish on either class podium.
The starting grids for each of Saturday’s 150-minute races were determined by points standings because heavy rain forced an end to Friday’s qualifying sessions. That meant three BMWs in the top-10 Street Tuner and two in the top-five Grand Sport starting positions, including the pole for GS points leaders John Edwards and Trent Hindman. (more…)
On the 7th of June 2014 at 10.00 clock SuperCarClub 500 will broadcast their motorsport event „Rolling50“ via LIVE-Stream on the Internet. For the 2nd time this event will take place at airfield D-Meinerzhagen (NRW). 4-5 events a year are planned.
Rolling50 is a drag race from 50 km/h. Over a distance of 400 meter ( 1/4 mile) the cars will reach a speed of over 200 km/h. Porsche Turbo, BMW M, AMG, Audi R8, Ferrari and Lamborghini as well as Nissan GTR with 1000 hp and many other car-models take part to this powerful event. A colorful program with show acts of racing driver David Schiwietz ( Kremer Racing Team ) and Trackforce.de with their Porsche race car of the current VLN series will complete the event. Because at this event spectators are not allowed at the Airfield, the organizer Peter Klein ( 1st Chairman of the SCC500 ) committed Reelive TV in order to manage the technical implementation of the LIVE stream. In this way, the SCC500 wants to give all motor sports enthusiasts the opportunity to take part to this adrenaline-filled event from everywhere in the world. The last one drives the all-new BMW M4, which has a 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine with 430HP (317 kW) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds with 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission and 4.4 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

BMW has presented the Concept Roadster,which was was exhibited at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. The Concept Roadster represents BMW’s vision of the future generations of boxer-powered roadsters. The motorcycle is powered by a newly developed two-cylinder 1.2 liter boxer engine with 125HP (92 kW) at 7,750RPM and 125Nm (93 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500RPM.
It features a single-sided swing arm with cardan drive and a light tubular space frame. It boasts a typical low front end and high rear one, which enables the rider to control it easier. Concept Roadster comes with LED front and rear lights as well as a fuel tank of gloss milled aluminum. The self-supporting rear structure is fashioned from a single piece. Motorsport has published an video clip showing how a slightly tuned BMW 1-Series ///M accelerates 0-250 km/h. The sports coupe comes with several upgrades making the motorsport engine even more impressive.
BMW 1-Series M is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder engine – 340HP (250 kW) and 500Nm (369 lb-ft). It is connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox. 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 17.3 seconds. The top speed is electronically-limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). It can cover 100 km with just 9.6 liters of petrol and CO2 emission of 224 g/km – combined cycle.
This particular car was upgraded by Auto Racing. The result is 420HP (313 kW) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft) – an increase of 80HP and 100Nm. 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. (more…)

BMW has introduced 435i Gran Coupe Individual Frozen Grey in Bilbao, Spain. The individual color emphasize on the sporty and elegant lines of the stylish four-door coupe. The 4-Series Gran Coupe is available in four trim levels – Luxury, Modern, Sport and M-Sport. In addition to many familiar colors, such as Glacier Silver, Alpine White or Black Sapphire, there is also a new color brown Jatoba.
Only with the ///M Sport Package, the Estoril Blue and Carbon Black are available to customers. The Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Glacier Silver and Mineral Grey are other options. TheophilusChin has uploaded two interesting render pictures of the upcoming BMW X7. The flagship looks pretty much as an enlarged X5 F15 and the rear reminds its direct rival – Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. It will hit the market sometime in 2017.
