To celebrate BMW’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and inspired by the BMW London 2012 Performance Team, BMW has introduced two new Performance Edition models based on the popular BMW 1 Series and 3 Series.
Building on the sporting looks of the popular 1 Series Sports Hatch, the 1 Series Performance Edition comes with M aerodynamic bodystyling, dark chrome 18-inch M light alloy wheels, High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, dark chrome exhaust tailpipe and dark line rear lights. Enhancing its sporty driving style is the addition of M Sport Suspension, while sport seats with Royal Blue stitching, M Sport multi-function leather steering wheel and gearshift leaver, floor mats with Royal Blue piping and London 2012 exterior badges complete the sporty look. G-Power has introduced another tuning package, but this time for the M3 E92. Furthermore, the tuned car has been driven at the 2011 Nardo High-Speed Test event in Italy run by German car magazine Auto, Motor und Sport and achieved a brutal result.
The 12.3 km-long route is basically a circle with a diameter of 4 km and an elevated roadway that is reminiscent of a steep curve. G-Power BMW M3 E92 SK II was driven by Christian Stöber, who topped 333.29 km/h (207 mph). (more…)

BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition: unique in the upper mid-range segment – a premium sedan with CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
From autumn 2011, in parallel with the regular BMW 520d, an ultra-fuel-efficient version of this sedan will be offered: the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition. With unchanged maximum power (135 kW/184 hp) and torque (380 Newton metres / 280 lb-ft), this model records average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle of 4.5 l/100 km (62.8 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions of 119 grams per kilometre. This is around ten per cent better consumption than the most fuel-efficient segment competitors, despite the fact that the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition is more powerful than the competitor models. The market launch of the new BMW 6 Series Coupé in autumn 2011 will be accompanied by the arrival of additional engine variants for the new BMW 6 Series Convertible. Making its debut in the two models is the world’s sportiest six-cylinder diesel engine, a 3.0-litre unit with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and output of 230 kW/313 hp. For the first time, the BMW 6 Series will also be available with BMW xDrive. The electronically controlled intelligent all-wheel-drive system will give the BMW 650i xDrive Coupé and BMW 650i xDrive Convertible unbeatable authority, traction and directional stability in all road and weather conditions. Vorsteiner has finally realeased M3 GTRS3, which is just staggering. The car is based on BMW M3 E92, but it is completely rebuilt.
The package of BMW M3 GTRS3 Widebody includes carbon fiber front bumper, carbon fiber wide arch front fenders, carbon fiber extended side skirts, carbon fiber wide arch rear quarter panels, carbon fiber wide arch rear bumper.
There are also clubsport carbon fiber vented hood, VRS aero carbon fiber boot lid, VTS type II Titanium sport exhaust system.

Edo Competition has announced BMW M5 E60 Dark Edition. The tuned vehicle comes with styling and performance upgrades.
The exterior package includes new rear skirt housing four chromed exhaust tips. There are also rear wing and new 20” light alloy wheels with painted centers and Dunlop tires in dimensions 255/35 R20 front and 285/30 R20 rear.
The performance upgrade consists of a sport exhaust system, ECU re-map, high-flow air filters and catalytic converters. The overall power is boosted to 555PS (408 kW) and 560Nm (413 lb-ft). Furthermore, the top speed limiter has been removed, so the new top speed is 305 km/h (190 mph). 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.2 seconds and 100 to 200 km/h takes just 10 seconds. BMW exhibits the ECO-friendly concepts i3 and i8 at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Both vehicles will set a new bars in turn of efficiency.
The small i3 Concept is a four-seater city car with 5 doors, which is powered only by electric motor, but with astonishing power – 170PS (125 kW) and 250Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. There is a lithium-ion battery package delivering up to 160 km (100 miles) range. 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph). The overall weight of the vehicle is 1250 kg (2755 lbs). BMW i3 is perfect for everyday driving with its range and once the battery is depleted, it can be recharged in just 6 hours to 100%.
The i8 Concept is completely different vehicle. It comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol combined with an electric motor. The total power is 353PS (260 kW) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The curb weight of the vehicle is 1480kg, so the results are impressive. (more…)
M3, M5, M6 … What was really lacking in this sequence was a smaller M1, which – with due respect to its famous predecessor of the same name – has now been officially called “1 Series M Coupe” by BMW. The engineers at BMW M GmbH are mighty proud of their smallest M-Racer, which thanks to an in-line six cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo-charging and direct fuel injection, sends out a whopping 340 hp on the crankshaft. Alongside so much power, even a Porsche Cayman R must back off.
As one of the foremost engine tuners in Germany, the Manhart Racing Company, led by the engine tuning icon, Günter Manhart, will offer from now on a completely remodelled 1 Series M Coupe. The Manhart MH1 Biturbo stands out with its standard consistent increase in power to 415 hp, which catapults it directly into the same league as the M3 Coupe and the Porsche 997 Carrera GTS. The in-house sports exhaust system, including down pipes and stainless steel silencers, ensures not only a few extra horsepower, but also an aggressive sound. (more…)
