As part of their 30th Anniversary celebrations, MANHART Performance proudly presents its MINI F300 personalisation package for the latest (F56) MINI John Cooper Works, with which it claims pole position as a tuner of this flagship performance MINI. While the latest JCW is a great all-rounder, there is no question that in adding more comfort, convenience and safety features, the BMW engineers have caused the coveted MINI genes to be diluted in some areas. Weight is certainly its biggest enemy. While its new, more efficient 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces a robust 231 hp, the car weighs a whopping 114 kg more than its predecessor from 2009. Furthermore, the measuring tape shows a 4.4 cm wider car that has grown by 16 cm in overall length, on a 2.8 cm longer wheelbase. To compensate for this and more, MANHART Performance addresses the JCW MINI as a total package to keep things in balance. Starting with the four-cylinder turbocharged motor, they remap the fuel, ignition and boost software and replace the standard intercooler with a more efficient Wagner unit. A Remus stainless steel sports exhaust with larger downpipe and valve control reduces backpressure and produces a deeper, more mellifluous soundtrack. These modifications produce a rousing 300 hp, with 470 Nm of torque. The job of delivering this enhanced output to the tarmac falls to the KW Variant 3 coil-over suspension kit, featuring ride height adjustment as well as separately adjustable bounce and rebound control. A MANHART Carbon-fibre front suspension tower strut brace stiffens up the front-end to reduce torque steer. In combination with gold-painted MANHART’s 8.0x19-inch Multispoke alloy wheels shod with 235/35ZR19 tyres, these chassis upgrades help to deliver the classic Mini go-kart feel. Distinctive looks are a MANHART strong suit, and a deep, lustrous coat of British Racing Green paint, embellished with a specially designed gold decal set ensures that this car will be noticed on the move or at a standstill. The theme in the cabin is luxury rather than motorsport, with seats covered in the finest leather and Alcantara. The front and rear seats are upholstered in anthracite leather with gold outline stitching, while their Alcantara inserts feature gold cross-stitching for a quilted effect. This theme is carried over to the Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, which features gold stitching and a matching race-style “this way up” line at its 12 o' clock position. A set of velour floor mats embroidered with MANHART logos adds the finishing touch.
