Starting in the autumn of 2012, BMW will be sending out highly attractive signals in the areas of sportiness, versatility and efficiency with new engine variants and equipment features for the latest models within the compact and midrange segments. For the very first time, the intelligent four-wheel drive system BMW xDrive will be available for the BMW 1 Series. Furthermore, the remarkably economical BMW 114d will be making its debut. The BMW 320i EfficientDynamics Edition Sedan will be available as the first petrol-driven model with additionally enhanced technology for reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. In future, there will be a choice of four diesel and two petrol engines for the new BMW 3 Series Touring. Vorsteiner has announced their tuned version of BMW E93 M3 (convetbile). The name of the project is Vorsteiner GTRS3 E93 M3.

The aerodynamics package includes:

The car rolls enormous VS-350 Forged Concave wheels – 10.5J x 20” at the front and 12.5J x 20” at the rear fitted with 285/25/20 Michelin PS2 and 325/25/20 Michelin PS2 tires, respectively.

BMW South Africa in conjunction with ADF Motorsport will compete for the first time in the local production car championship, the Wesbank Super Series race meeting, at Killarney in Cape Town on 31 March 2012 and then at the 2012 Nurburgring 24-hour race later this year. (more…)

The memories created when modifying a car is something the owner will hold on to forever. For enthusiasts, the transformation of their car is similar to watching your kids grow up. It’s a mix of emotions, both good and bad but in the end you realize it was all worth it.

We begin with the wheels, as a set of PUR 4OUR DEPTH are featured on Project Exkalaber. PUR Wheels is known for creating an exclusive line for Ferrari and Lamborghini applications, so it a bit out of the ordinary to see them on this M5. We took a standard twenty-two inch Lamborghini application, which has a bolt pattern of 5×112 and had them professionally re-drilled to 5×120. Vorsteiner has announced their GTRS3 program for the BMW M3 Coupe. It includes a complete wide body kit and some other nice upgrades.

The widebody kit includes front and rear bumpers (rear end diffuser included), flaring wheel arches and extended side skirts, all made from carbon fiber, adorn the M3. The hood and boot lid have been completely replaced and some piping has been done as well. There are big air scoops everywhere and stainless steel quad exhaust system.

The tuned M3 rolls twin 7-spoked, 3-piece Concave Forged Mesh wheels from Vorsteiner’s V-308 line. Sizes come in both 19″ and 20″. (more…)

The engine receives an extra control unit that amps the power from 245hp to 295hp. The maximum torque is now 410Nm. Top speed is still limited to 250 km/h but zero to one hundred happens in 5.7 seconds – .2 of a second less.

The suspension has been lowered thanks to a spring kit provided by Schnitzer and the choice of wheels is mind boggling: AC Schnitzer wheels Type IV BiColor and silver, Type VI and Type VIII in 18 , 19 and 20-inch sizes. The long awaited V-MS Program for the 5 Series is officially launched.

The aero package for the V-MS components includes a lightweight pre-preg autoclave carbon fiber front spoiler, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser built to be functional and fashionable at the same time. A lightweight sport exhaust system adds a distinct exhaust note to the 5 series that gives it an extra grunt and performance to the vehicle.

BMW UK has announced the exclusive BMW M3 coupe and convertible limited edition 500 models. Only 500 units will be built. The limited edition M3 features by dark chrome finish details foudn in the kidney grille surround, side gills and twin double exhaust. The M3 500 is also equipped with BMW’s high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim plus 19″ high-gloss black light-alloy wheels.

Available exterior colors include the patriotic Union Jack color palette of Imola Red, Mineral White or Santorini Blue.

The interior boasts Novillo leather with matching exterior body color stitching on the sports seats and door panels. Piano Black interior trim is highlighted by a laser cut ‘One of 500′ dash plaque.

Tthe M3 remains the same with its 420HP naturally aspirated V8 engine with M-specific chassis and either 6-speed manual or 7-speed M DCT transmission.

Pricing for the Limited Edition 500 Coupe starts at £55,690 and the Convertible from £59,785 – a value of £4,000 worth of additional equipment for only £1,000 on top of the standard M3 Coupe and Convertible list price.

The high-quality materials used: white leather for the seats and for the internal par of the doors, the lower part of the panel; and black Alcantara for the attic and the inner part of the seats. The leading motive is the red line, which is featured in key parts of the coupe and makes a great accent on the gearshift and the steering wheel.
