A New BMW iConcept will Make Its World Debut

A new BMW i Concept vehicle will make its world debut and the BMW i8 Concept Roadster will make its North American auto show debut at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show on Wednesday, November 28th at the BMW Stand at 3:10 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. PST at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa Street) in Los Angeles. The new BMW i Concept and BMW i8 Concept Roadster vehicles are the next generation of vehicles from BMW i, BMW’s brand dedicated to sustainability and future mobility. BMW has released a nice video of the amazing Vision ConnectedDrive.
The vehicle concentrates on communication, infotainment and safety. It is a two-seater roadster with aggressive lines and a flat sporting and dynamic silhouette. There are some transparent surfaces providing a cool light show.
Vision ConnectedDrive resembles a Vision EfficientDynamics roadster and features a wide grille, huge air intakes, a frameless windscreen and a transparent area in the hood.
The interior is split into two main sections as the driver and passenger are separated by a flowing center console. The Passenger Information Display in the instrument panel can come to life with a single touch. (more…)

BMW has introduced the new M3 DTM race car, which will be on show to motorsport fans and visitors to BMW Welt at the weekend. The car offers an initial impression of what the BMW M3 DTM will look like when it lines up at the start of the 2012 season.
BMW M3 DTM race car is powered by the powerful V8 engine equipped with the air restrictor as detailed in the technical regulations. It develops 480BHP (353 kW), which is enough to catapult the car to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds and to hit a top speed of 300 km/h.

BMW i3 and i8 at the Frankfurt Motor Show

BMW exhibits the ECO-friendly concepts i3 and i8 at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Both vehicles will set a new bars in turn of efficiency.
The small i3 Concept is a four-seater city car with 5 doors, which is powered only by electric motor, but with astonishing power – 170PS (125 kW) and 250Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. There is a lithium-ion battery package delivering up to 160 km (100 miles) range. 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph). The overall weight of the vehicle is 1250 kg (2755 lbs). BMW i3 is perfect for everyday driving with its range and once the battery is depleted, it can be recharged in just 6 hours to 100%.
The i8 Concept is completely different vehicle. It comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol combined with an electric motor. The total power is 353PS (260 kW) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The curb weight of the vehicle is 1480kg, so the results are impressive. (more…)

BMW M3 GTS Sedan Concept

BMW has introduced M3 E90 GTS Concept (Sedan) follows the M3 E92 GTS (Coupe).
The Sedan will be powered by the same 4.4 liter V8 with 450HP (331 kW) as the Coupe version. This is a revised version of the well-know 4.0 liter V8 in a regular M3, which delivers 420HP (309 kW).
M3 GTS Sedan Concept includes 19” alloys, huge brake system, rear boot lid spoiler and the black kidney grills. The car also gets front splitter, lighter sport exhaust system and revised suspension. (more…)

Concept Gran Coupe

BMW Concept Gran Coupe was presented at the Auto China in Beijing – April 23rd to May 2nd 2010. The vehicle is a 4-door coupe with stunning shapes.
The car is almost 5 metres long and only 1.40 metres high, which makes it near 100mm flatter than 5 and 7 series. This provides beter balance, lowering center of gravity and better driving experience.
